New Far-Red Lentiviral Vector

pLVmKate2-C is a lentivirus expression vector encoding far-red fluorescent protein mKate2. The vector allows generation of fusions to the mKate2 C-terminus and expression of mKate2 fusions or mKate2 alone in eukaryotic (mammalian) cells.
Several other versions of this vector will be available soon.
Low toxicity demonstrated in transgenic Xenopus laevis embryos, makes mKate2 a superior fluorescent tag for imaging in living tissues
